Unlike agencies that offer medical tourism for any procedure, ALUMA focuses its coordination on five specialties with greater logistical complexity: plastic, bariatric, gastrointestinal, and orthopedic/trauma surgery, plus clinical and interventional cardiology. These are procedures and evaluations that require hospitalization, a real recovery period and, in most cases, a companion — exactly the kind of trip we know how to coordinate.
ALUMA does not employ these physicians or provide clinical care: we coordinate the logistics of your trip around the care they and their hospital provide.
Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in complex shoulder, elbow and sports surgery. Dr. Murillo completed a world-class triple fellowship in Paris, France, training at the Institut de la Main et de l'Épaule under Dr. Philippe Valenti, the Clinique du Sport (FIFA Centre of Excellence), and Clinique Jouvenet. In Mexico, he completed his orthopedic residency at Hospital Christus Muguerza Alta Especialidad and a shoulder and knee fellowship at TecSalud. He has treated ATP Top-10 tennis players, Ligue 1 footballers and Olympic athletes. He is an active researcher, reviewer and speaker, and currently teaches at TecSalud. Practices at Hospital Zambrano Hellion.
Board-certified Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgeon based in Mexico City. He trained at Hospital General “Dr. Manuel Gea González” and completed advanced training in facial paralysis and peripheral nerve surgery. His practice focuses on facial rejuvenation, rhinoplasty, aesthetic breast and body surgery, and complex reconstruction. He is committed to natural results through meticulous technique, evidence-based medicine and personalized care.
Board-certified ENT and Facial Plastic Surgeon. She earned her medical degree from Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara and completed her residency through Universidad La Salle. She received advanced facial plastic surgery training in Mexico, Portland (OHSU), and Lisbon, Portugal. Her practice combines functional and aesthetic expertise in rhinoplasty, facial rejuvenation and advanced ENT surgery. She practices at Hospital Ángeles Lomas, Hospital Ángeles Santa Mónica and Alta Médica in Mexico City.
Board-certified General Surgeon with advanced subspecialty training in Colorectal Surgery. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases affecting the colon, rectum, and anus, combining evidence-based medicine with minimally invasive surgical techniques to deliver safe, effective, and personalized care. He earned his medical degree from Universidad Anáhuac México Norte and completed advanced training at leading institutions in Mexico, including Centro Médico Nacional La Raza and Centro Médico Nacional Siglo XXI. He also completed international training at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (Harvard Medical School) and an observership at the Cleveland Clinic's Department of Colon and Rectal Surgery. His clinical practice focuses on colorectal surgery, digestive diseases, diagnostic and therapeutic colonoscopy, inflammatory bowel disease, and advanced laparoscopic surgery. In addition to his private practice at Hospital Ángeles Lomas, Dr. Colín is part of the surgical team at Alta Médica, where he provides comprehensive colorectal and digestive surgical care.
Dr. Luis Mario Guerrero Camarena is a General Surgeon and Gastrointestinal Endoscopist with specialized training in laparoscopic surgery, therapeutic endoscopy, and advanced endoscopic procedures. He completed his General Surgery residency at Hospital Español de México, where he served as Chief Resident, followed by advanced specialty training in Gastrointestinal Endoscopy at Hospital General Dr. Manuel Gea González, where he also served as Chief Resident. His international training includes an Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (ESD) course organized by ASGE/JGES in Chicago, as well as basic and advanced laparoscopic skills training at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. As part of his continued training in advanced endoscopic techniques, Dr. Guerrero participated in the 6th Annual Transluminal & Third Space Endoscopy Workshop, organized by the Texas Interventional Endoscopy Group at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center in Houston, Texas, as well as the Boston Scientific Endoscopic Closure Bootcamp in Alajuela, Costa Rica, in July 2026. He currently serves as an Associate Physician in General Surgery at Hospital Español de México and is a member of the Mexican Association of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. His clinical practice focuses on delivering modern, minimally invasive surgical and endoscopic care supported by advanced national and international training.
Dr. José Fernando Vargas Ledo is a physician board-certified in Clinical Cardiology, with advanced subspecialty training in Interventional Cardiology. He trained at Hospital Español de México and brings more than eight years of clinical experience to his practice. He holds dual certification from the Mexican Board of Cardiology in both Clinical and Interventional Cardiology. As Chief Resident during his training, he cared for patients in the coronary care unit, performed cardiovascular procedures, and managed critically ill patients. He currently serves as Head of Hospitalization at Hospital Español de México and is part of the care team for acute heart attack (myocardial infarction) patients at Centro Médico ABC. His practice centers on the diagnosis, treatment, and comprehensive management of heart disease, including interventional procedures and specialized cardiovascular care.
